Modern accents in raw iron

Raw concrete walls and ceilings dominate the overall appearance of the loft-like house on Lake Zurich. Warm light exemplifies the rugged texture of the solid old cabinets, which have a rough saw-milled cut impression. The surfaces of the furniture in untreated, partly oxidized metal show a natural patina. The steel shelfing designed exclusively for the room and the large dining table are forged by hand. Consistently designed in industrial style, the house exudes a modern and cool ambience.

Why have the experts at interior design company diesigner konzept GmbH chosen the Alv range of fittings from Hager for the Haus am See project? "The Alv door handles in raw iron are a perfect match for the rusted surfaces of the metal furniture that can be seen throughout the house," explains David Weigel, Managing Director of the interior design company from Wendelstein near Nuremberg/DE. "The form is straightforward, reduced and shows a simple design. Beautiful, handcrafted details are visible, for example, in the rotating door fittings. Together with the wooden doors made of aspen oak, the result is a harmonious overall picture."

Fittings are an important design element for Mr Weigel, even if it may only appear as a detail. "Our projects live from the detail. The detail makes the difference, especially in exclusive, high-quality interior design. When I enter a room and touch the door handle, I already have a haptic impression. That's why handles are so centrally important and determine how we experience a room and what we feel."
